1. Entry fees for Pro Teams

Mark,

I appreciate all that IHRA Pro Stock and their owners and drivers have done for the sport. You have gone, in my opinion, above and beyond the point most owners would stop...PS/PM and PSB...for that, I thank you for keeping the Smith'sgoing.

However, I disagree with your assessment of the Pro's and entry fee's.Paul Romine and I used to battle years ago over this and I don't want to go down that path again. However, I will agree that TF, FC, PM, AFC and PSdraw the crowds in the door and are the "show". But, I think its a great leveling stick for the IHRA to not put any class above another. In essence, some of us spend what we can afford and others over extend, no matter what class you run. I appreciate IHRA for charging the Pro's the same as me.

Anyone that wants to try and compare purses, don't. Hot Rod,Super Rod and Stock race for roughly $1000 + contingencies and pay $190 to race. Its worse at an NHRA race....$250 to race for the same purse. Apples to apples, on a bad weekend some pro's winnings cover 2-3 qualifiers only, so were all in the same boat.

Thanks for chiming in Mark.

By the way......what was the bonus/incentive for the pro's to tow out there? I thought IHRA guaranteed every pro class tow money, etc....

Pete,

Don't leave yourself out of what fans come to watch. There has been many times that I sat in the stands to watch Super Stock and Comp Elim. I worked with a B/ED (Lori Johns) and was always and still am amazed how they just go faster and faster. Just when I think "No way that index will ever be lower" down it goes.

Hi Mark,

I agree, when Bader introduced the entry fee, that was ridiculous. I am also happy ADRL will be there as a alternative, however, 1/8 mile racing is boring. I have run some 1/8 mile stuff in my early years and it doesn't do it for me. I hope IHRA can survive these crummy times, I want to race the 1/4 mile still.
Maybe you and Sonny can convince Koretsky to let me drive his car, I am going nuts sitting at home.

Tony

Hey Tony,

Good to see you in Chicago. I myself did some 1/8 mile racing during my Texas Pro Stock days. It was fun but I also prefer 1/4.

Sitting at home..I thought you were flipping Pizzas?

I'll put in a good word for you with Kenny.

Want to ride a second bike?

I'm too fat to ride a bike, 200 lb. Pro Stock Bike riders don't exist.

Yeah I am flipping Pizza's but racing is more fun.

Thanks,

Tony
